Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?
I am based the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria and I frequent Byron Bay, NSW

Do you travel?
I would love to travel to you or with you for your wedding! If I am traveling long distances by car it is a small travel fee of $40 per hour of travel after an hour each way from Kilsyth. If you are having a destination wedding, that’s wonderful and exciting - get in touch! If I'm able to, I will.

Where can we find your other photography work?
Here or on instagram

How much coverage do I require?
My most popular package is nine hours, as it allows for almost total coverage of a wedding day. However, all weddings are different which is why I offer flexible options and the ability to add on additional hours. If you are still unsure, let's chat about it! I am also happy to add hours closer to the date when the timeline is more finalised.

Booking your date
I require a 20% deposit to secure your wedding booking. This amount is not refundable in the event of cancellation. Your wedding date will not be 100% secured until deposit is paid and forms are signed. It's all digital and easy to do!

When do I pay the rest of the amount?
The remaining amount is required a week before your big day. However, please feel free to send partial payments as your date draws closer if preferable to you.

What equipment do you own?
For you photography buffs, I own the following: 2 x Canon R5, Canon 85mm 1.2, Canon R 50mm 1.2, Canon 35mm 1.4, Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro, Canon R 70-200mm 2.8, Speed lights, Mavic Pro 2 Drone, reflector, lighting equipment with soft boxes and other additional accessories.
I have a Mac Studio and the newest Photoshop and Lightroom software

How much extra for drone usage?
It's completely free - we just need to allow time for it. It is also weather and location dependant!

Do you have a backup camera?
I shoot with two cameras so I don't miss a thing. It also means I have a backup on me at all times.

How do you store your files?
When shooting, my cameras record to two SD cards each, so if one corrupts there is always a backup. When I return home, I load the shoot to my hard drive and to the cloud to ensure the photos are safe.

Can we meet you before we book you?
Absolutely! Let's have a coffee and discuss any ideas or questions you might have. If you're too busy or live in a remote area - I am also happy to chat over zoom or on the phone.

Do you use a second shooter?
Yes I have second shooters you can hire for your day at $150 per hour, with a minimum of three hours. This shooter will be experienced and have a similar style to my own.

Do I need to use a second shooter?
No, it's completely optional. I typically recommend a second shooter for weddings with 250+ guests to ensure broader coverage and capture more moments. That said, I’ve successfully photographed weddings with over 500 guests on my own without any issues.

Do you do videography?
I focus only on photography, however I have worked with some great people, check them out here. I will also gladly work with any videographer of your choosing.

Do you photograph tea ceremonies or multi-day celebrations?
Yes. Please get in touch and I can curate a package for you that suits your needs.

Do you shoot same-sex couples?
Absolutely!

My friend/colleague/family member is trying to built a portfolio, can they photograph the wedding too?
It’s nice to have family members and friends take photos, but if they get in my way it can be very frustrating for you, and for me! In the end I want to take the most beautiful pictures I can and I only have a set amount of time to do it in. The best moments on wedding days can happen in only a few seconds – and if I miss it because someone else is in my way, then you miss out on getting the photos! I would suggest if you have a friend that wants to shoot - that you have them only photograph the reception, or when I am not around.

When should we have the wedding meeting?
When your wedding is 90%+ planned. The wedding meeting is important so we can discuss. What I need to do, what you’re expecting and the general run sheet of the day. Usually this is a month or so before your date.

How many photos will we get?
Approximately 100 per hour I am there, however I often will go over. You will receive all of the best images from the day and the number of images is not capped.

How long should we allow for bridal party photos?
Generally, between the end of the ceremony and the start of the reception there is 90 minutes allowed for family photos, bridal party and couple photos. Please allow more time if you are having photos away from the venue, or have large families!

An alternative option is to have a first look, where we do the photos before the ceremony. It can still be really beautiful and special when you see each other for the first time, and you can go straight into the party after a few family shots after the ceremony.

How long should we allow for family photos?
Approximately twenty minutes to half an hour should be fine. After the ceremony is the best time to do this, as everyone is there and ready to go. For bigger families, more time may be required! Think about writing a list and having a family member who knows what everyone looks like organising who is in the next photo. Also let everyone who is in the photos know ahead of time.

How long will it take for me to receive the images?
You will receive your final edited images within six weeks of the wedding day

What file type are the images I receive in?
You will receive full high-resolution jpeg images on both a private online gallery and on a custom USB to your address

Do you send a sneak peek?
Yes I send a sneak peek in the week following your wedding day

Will the photographs be watermarked?
No, your images will not be watermarked

How will the images be edited?
All of your images will be professionally curated, colour graded and retouched. I have been using Photoshop for longer than I have been a photographer, and I pride myself on creating a beautiful finished product. I put a lot of work into the details of the images, and will go through them individually. My style of editing is very natural and timeless - I want your images to look amazing both now and in fifty years.

What do we do in the case of bad weather?
Unfortunately we can't control the weather on your wedding day, however the important thing to remember is that we will get beautiful photographs regardless! Whilst it is always good to have an under cover location planned, we can also do some gorgeous shots in the rain. Perhaps think about buying some umbrellas, or gumboots? I always make do and we will still have fun and create some beautiful shots together.

I/We don't like having our photos taken
Being in front of the camera can seem incredibly daunting, however I will make the shoot as relaxed and fun as possible. I have had endless couples tell me that despite their concerns, they had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the experience! I will pose you, however it is more about capturing you as you are - genuine smiles are the most beautiful!

If you are still worried, perhaps book an couple session so you can get comfortable in front of my lens and get some different photos. Wedding couples get a discount on their couple sessions!

What happens if you get sick?
Whilst it has never happened before (knock on wood) If I feel unable to work, I would find a replacement of consistent style and experience. All the while (of course) keeping the couple in the loop, and ensuring they are comfortable with the new photographer. I am fully vaccinated.

Should we provide a meal at reception for you?
During your wedding day, I am on my feet the whole time, running around like a mad thing to make sure I get all the photos. As a result it is a requirement (and hugely appreciated) that I get some sort of food if I am there when everyone else is eating mains. There aren’t many photos to take whilst people are eating, anyway!

Any dietary requirements?
I am a vegetarian.

Do you sell albums?
Yes. Albums are a wonderful chance to preserve your photos and remember them for years to come. Price list and album options are available to view here. If you pay for your album at the same time as booking, it secures the price of the album and makes it immune to any price hikes that may occur between the time of booking and ordering.

Do you sell prints?
Your online gallery will provide you with a personalised print store where you can order professional prints, canvases and frames - the quality is stunning
